Lost & Found
A couple of years ago, Paypay gave me a pair of gold hoop earrings that I love and wear ALL the time. They and my wedding ring were the only piece of jewlery that I wore to Russia so I have a very special fondness for them.
A few days ago I was talking with Paypay, I touched my ears and felt something was wrong.... I was missing an earring! crap! I looked everywhere for it and couldn't find it. Needless to say I was very sad and I couldn't remember when was the last time I saw it so I had no idea how long it had been. I put the one I had left away thinking, I'll ask Paypay for a new pair as a christmas gift.
Yesterday, I heard Paypay say to Chickpea "Go give that to Maman." then a little voice said "Here you go Maman." I look down and she had my missing earring in her hand! I was so happy I probably hugged her too hard but it didn't matter my girl had found my earring. I looked up at Paypay and he said she found it behind the door in the laundry room.
A big thanks to my girl, Chickpea!

Il y a quelques annees, Paypay m'a donne comme cadeau un paire de boucles d'oreille que j'adore et que je porte tout le temps. Elles et mon jonc de mariage sont les seuls bijoux que j'ai porte lorsque nous sommes alles en Russie et ils sont precieux pour moi.
Il y a quelques jours je parlais avec Paypay et j'ai touche a mon oreille mais il y avait quelque chose qui n'etait pas correcte.... je manquais une boucle d'oreille! merde! J'ai regarde partout et je ne pouvais pas la trouver. J'etais tres decue et je ne pouvais pas me souvenir la derniere fois que je l'avais donc c'etait impossible de savoir quand je l'ai perdue. J'ai serre l'autre en pensant de demander a Paypay de m'en donner une autre paire comme cadeau de noel.
Hier, J'ai entendu Paypay dire a Chickpea "Go give that to Maman." ensuite une petite voix "Here you go Maman.". Elle avait ma boucle d'oreille dans sa main! J'etais tellement contente que je l'ai probablement serre trop fort mais ce ne derangait pas car elle avait trouve ma boucle d'oreille. Paypay m'a dit qu'elle l'a trouvee en arriere de la porte de la chambre a lavage.
Un gros merci a ma petite puce, Chickpea!

Yuckies . . . .
A new word for Chickpea "Yuckies". . . Last week during gym class she was having fun but as she went up a ramp she stopped dead in her tracks, looked at me, pointed to something and said "Maman Yucky". I didn't know what she saw so I walked over to her and looked at what she was pointing to. I couldn't stifle my laugh, she was terrified of a dust bunny that was on the ramp and she wouldn't move unitl I removed the horror. It was only after I had picked it up and threw it away did she continue climbing. Paypay was there and asked what was wrong and I told him about the bunny and that it was a "yucky", he too laughed.
A couple of days later Paypay was giving Chickpea her bath and as she got into the water she saw something in the water and refused to get in until Paypay removed the "yucky". It was a piece of lint from the washcloth.....
Chickpea and I had some fun eating oranges yesterday afternoon. . . .

La semaine derniere pendant ses cours de gym elle s'amusait mais lorsqu'elle grimpait une rampe elle s'est arrete, m'a regarde, pointait vers quelque chose et m'a dit "Maman Yucky". Je ne savais pas ce qu'elle voyait donc je suis alle vers la rampe pour voir ce qui se passait. Je n'ai pas pu resister a rire, elle avait peur d'une mousse et refusait de continuer si je n'otais pas l'horreure. Ce n'etait que quand j'ai enleve la mousse qu'elle continuait a grimper. Paypay m'a demande ce qu'elle avait et je lui ai dit l'histoire, et lui aussi a rit.
Quelques jours plus tard Paypay donnait le bain a Chickpea et lorsqu'elle a embarque dans l'eau elle a vu quelquechose. Elle refusait d'y aller avant que Paypay enleve le "yucky". C'etait une mousse de la debarbouillette....
Chickpea et moi, on s'est amuse en mangeant des oranges hier apres-midi. . . .

Holiday Decorating 2007
December 1st of each year is when I put my holiday decorations up, no matter what day of the week it is. Luckily this year it fell on a Saturday and we were able to do the decorating all together, granted it took double the time but it was lots of fun.
Chickpea was helpful, well kinda as much as a two year old can help. It took a while for her to understand that the cute ornaments stayed ON the tree and are not for her to play with. All the breakeable or treasured ornaments are up high on the tree out of her grasp.
Don't know how I did it but I conned Paypay into putting up the tree and lights, yeah! Anyways I usually do the interior and Paypay handles the outside however, this year we were in for a big surprise. As we sat down for lunch we looked outside to see SNOW coming down not just flakes here and there but lots of the stuff. . . .

Le premier decembre est la journee que je monte les decorations de Noel, peu import quelle journee que ca tombe. Cette annee c'est bien que le premier ait tombe un samedi car on a pu faire les decorations tous ensemble. Ca a pris le double de temps mais on a passe une tres belle journee.
Chickpea a aide, comme une petite de deux ans peut aider. Ca a prit du temps pour qu'elle comprenne que les bibelots dovient rester dans l'arbre et non etre joues avec. Tout ceux qui sont cassable ou precieux sont en haut et hors de sa poignee.
Je ne sais pas comment j'ai fait mais j'ai convaincu Paypay a monter l'arbre et mettre les lumieres. Je fais toujours les decorations a l'interieur et Paypay fait ceux de dehors saufque cette annee on a eu une belle surprise. Lorsqu'on s'assoyaient pour diner on a regarde dehors pour voir le ciel plein de flocons de neige... pas quelques brins mais le ciel etait plein. . . .
