Automatic Time-Out

A while back we introduced the 'time-out' method into Chickpea's daily life when she did something that was wrong. For example pushing her stroller into Momo or pulling her tail. So each time I catch her doing something naughty she gets a 2-minute time-out on a chair in the dining room.

This morning while I was cleaning the kitchen I saw out of the corner of my eye Momo's tail being pulled and asked her "Did you pull Momo's tail?". Chickpea didn't answer me but walked into the dining room, pulled out her naughty chair, sat on it and said "2 minutes, not funny". It took all my strength not to laugh in front of her and she sat there until I said "time-out is done, go say you're sorry to Momo". She got up, pushed her chair back in, said sorry to Momo then looked at me and said "time-out all done" as she walked back into the family room.

How can you not laugh??? This was the easiest time-out ever.... i'm sure there will be some that are not this easy/funny.

Il y a quelque temps qu'on a introduit la methode 'time-out' dans le quotidien de Chickpea quand elle fait quelque chose de mal. Comme exemple quand elle pousse sa poussette sur Momo ou bien lui tirer la queue. Donc a chaque fois que je l'attrape au fait elle s'assit sur une chaise dans la salle de manger pour 2 minutes.

Ce matin pendant que je nettoyais la cuisine j'ai vu du coin de l'oeil que Momo se faisit tirer la queue et je lui ais demande "As-tu tire la queue a Momo?" Chickpea ne m'a pas repondu mais est partie vers la salle a manger, a tire sa chaise, s'est assise dessus et a dit "2 minutes, pas drole". Sa a pris tout mon petit change pour ne pas rire devant elle et elle a reste la jusqu'a je lui dit "time-out est fini, va t'excuser a Momo". Elle s'est leve, remit sa chaise, a dit ses excuses a Momo et a dit "time-out fini" pendant qu'elle retournait dans le salon.

C'est dure de ne pas rire??? C'etait le time-out le plus facile au monde.... mais je suis certaine qu'il va y en avoir des pas faciles qui s'en viennent.
