This was also the first time we took Chickpea by the shore. I'm glad we went with my mom because she's the one who ingrained my love for the ocean.
But first we needed to return to the store where I bought Chickpea her beach gauchos for a bigger size. The ones I bought on Saturday fit but they probably wouldn't make it through September. It also gave the marine layer more time to go away and let the sun out.
At last, here we are across the street from Coronado Beach. We pull out the beach toys from the trunk and head across the street. A few yards onto the sand, I take Chickpea's sandals off, after a few moments of wondering what's under her feet she's pulling my hand to start walking. The four of us head towards the water and drop our load onto the sand a short distance from the water. Surprisingly the water is warm for this time of year. Chickpea loved getting her feet wet but didn't like it one bit when the wave went out and the sand moved under her feet. So I took her further in all the way up to her knees where she splashed and had a good old time.
Once we got out of the water, grandma was waiting with the beach toys and showed Chickpea how to make sand castles. It was a great afternoon!!
Chickpea also made a new friend at her Grandma's house.....
On Monday we packed our bags, did a little more shopping at Fashion Valley then headed for the airport and home.

Dimanche matin arrive et aujourd'hui nous allons a une de mes places preferees... la plage. J'adore ressentir le sable sous mes orteilles et la senteur de l'air sale, il n'y a rien d'autre comme ca.
C'etait aussi la premiere fois qu'on amenait Chickpea au bord de l'eau. Je suis contente que c'etait avec maman car c'est a cause d'elle que j'aime autant l'eau.
Mais avant il fallait echanger les pantalons que j'ai achete pour Chickpea la journee d'avant. Ceux que j'avais achete fesait mais pas pour tout l'ete. Ca donnait aussi la chance au nuages marine de partir et laisser la place au soleil.
Enfin, nous voici au Coronado Beach. On sort les jouets de plage et on traverse la rue. Quelques metres sur le sable, j'enleve les sandales de Chickpea et apres quelques instants d'incertitude elle me tirait la main pour marcher. On s'approch de l'eau et laisse tomber nos choses sur la plage. C'etait surprenant que l'eau n'etait pas plus froide pour ce temps de l'annee. Chickpea a aime se mouiller les pieds mais n'a pas aime quand l'eau et le sable glissait sous ses pieds lorsque les vagues retournait vers l'ocean. Je l'ai amenee plus loin dans l'eau jusqu'a ses genoux ou elle s'est amuse.
Quand nous sommes sorties de l'eau, grandmaman attentait avec les jouets et a montre a Chickpea comment faire des chateux de sable. C'etait un apres-midi merveilleux!
Chickpea s'est fait un nouvel ami chez ca grandmere.....
Lundi nous avons faits nos valises, un peu de shopping et avons pris notre avion pour le retour chez nous.
