at long last....a bear for Chickpea

I can attest that Paypay cannot walk by a stuffed animal kiosk without trying to win one. He's really good at winning them for about $1.

For years he would put his quarters in the machine and a buck later I walk out the grocery store with yet another stuffed toy which I really didn't need. After way too many stuffed animals to count, I told him that he could try his luck now and then but he MUST give it away to a child in the store because I don't want anymore at home. Although Momo has had her share of them too, but shhhhh. . . . . let's not tell Paypay.

This morning while walking out of Top Foods Paypay tells me "Okay, after all these years of giving away those bears, i'm going to get one for my daughter." I didn't have the heart to say "No". In goes the quarters and a buck later Chickpea is hugging her Thanks-a-lot Care Bear and her dad's smile was priceless.

I was glad to have the camera in my bag.

Je peut vous dire que Paypay ne peut pas passer devant un kiosk a toutou sans mettre de l'argent et tantir sa chance. Il est pas mal bon et souvent s'en tire pour 1$.

Pendant des annees il a mit son argent dans la machine et une piastre plus tard je sors de l'epicerie avec un autre toutou que je n'ai pas besoin. Apres plusieurs toutous trop nombreux a compter, je lui ai dis qu'il pouvait continuer de temps a autre mais il faillait le DONNER a un enfant dans l'epicerie car j'en voulais plus a la maison. Malgre que Momo en a eu mais shhhhh. . . . . il faut pas le dire a Paypay.

Ce matin lorsqu'on sortaient de l'epicerie Paypay me dit "Bon, apres avoir donne tout ces toutous a d'autres, j'en gagne un pour ma fille." Je n'avais pas le coeur de dire "non". Hop, l'argent va dans la machine et une piastre plus tard Chickpea donnait des calins a son Thanks-a-lot Care Bear et le sourire de son pere disait tout.

J'etais contente d'avoir la camera avec moi.

A message from Chickpea ~

I've been so good for months because i've kept away from playing with some of daddy's toys at least those that are within my reach. But yesterday I got busted, my parents found out that I can now open and close the tv, dvd player and cable box... daddy is busy surfing the internet to find the best way to hide these new toys from me. Which by the way is making mom happy to not see these pesky wires anymore.

Message de Chickpea ~

Pendant ces derniers mois, j'ai ete tres sage et je n'ai pas touche aux jouets a papa dumoin ceux a ma hauteur. Mais hier je me suis fais poignee, mes parents on vus que j'etais capable de ouvrir et fermer la tele, table de dvd et le cable... papa est occupe sur l'internet a trouve comment cacher ces nouveau jouets. Maman est contente car elle etait tanne de voir ces fils sur le mur.



Hmmmm wonder what's behind these new doors? I keep trying to open them but they're always locked. Can they be hiding bigger and better toys? I will find out some way or another... he he he!

Road Trip

Chickpea had her first day-long road trip on Sunday. We left early in the morning to drive Mamy to the airport and got home late in the afternoon. She handled it like a trooper and had some fun with Mamy on the trip north.

Chickpea a fait son premier long voyage en voiture dimanche. Nous sommes partis tot le matin pour reconduire Mamy a l'aeroport et sommes revenus tard dans l'apres-midi. Elle a fait ca comme une grande et a eu du fun avec Mamy.

Odds and Ends

Let me see.... what's new in our little world? Not much excitement going on.

We completed our first post-placement report for Russia and it's ready to be sent to our agency. As part of the report we need to provide about a dozen pictures which is all fine and dandy. BUT how can you select the few dozen from the hundreds we've taken since being home in September???? It took me hours to look at each one and save them to a special folder only to have about 40 sitting there when I was done :o~ So we ended up with about 20 and called it good.

Chickpea is growing like a weed and continues to amaze us each day. This morning, while we were waiting for our breakfast, Paypay was playing find the cheerio under the milk cup. First attempt was a lucky shot, second was perplexing and by the fifth she caught on and was having fun with her dad... too bad breakfast arrived and we had to stop.

We enrolled Chickpea in Gym classes and they start on Feburary 23rd. We stopped by the open house yesterday and Chickpea was having a good old time playing with the slide, balls, swing and etc... i'm looking forward to the first class and will let you all know how it goes.

Voyons voir, que ce passe-t-il dans notre petit monde? Pas grand chose de nouveau.

Nous avons complete notre premiere rapport pour la russie et il est pret a etre envoye a notre agence. Nous devons envoyer une douzaine de photos avec le rapport qui est correct. MAIS comment choisir une douzaine de photos parmi les centaines qu'on a prit depuis notre arrive en septembre??? Ca m'a pris des heures a les regarder et a tasser les plus belles dans un repertoire separe. Lorsque j'ai eue fini il y avait quarante photos qui m'attendais :o~ Donc on a fini par en envoyer une vingtaine est le compte est bon.

Chickpea grandie comme de la mauvaise herbe et continue a nous emerveiller chaque jour. Ce matin, pendant qu'on attendait notre dejeuner, Paypay jouait a trouver le cheerio sous le goblet de lait. La premiere fois elle etait chanceuse, deuxieme un peu perdu mais rendu au cinquieme elle avait comprit et se faisait du fun avec son pere.... dommage que notre repas est arrive a ce moment.

Nous avons inscrit Chickpea dans des cours de Gym et ils commencent le 23 fevrier. Nous avons arrete aux portes-ouvertes et Chickpea avait du fun en jouant sur la glissade, avec les balles, la balancoire et etc... j'ai bien hate qu'elle commence son premier cours et je vous dirais comment ca a ete.
