Kleenex and Quenouilles

This morning as I sat at the kitchen table with Paypay having my morning coffee wondering what my next topic would be. I could hear Chickpea and Momo in the front room playing then things got really quite, Paypay got up to see what was going on and my sweet daughter gave me my next topic.

Paypay asked me to come see what fun Chickpea was having . . . . I walked into the room, tried to hide my laugh as much as possible and immediately left to snatch the camera. My sweet girl had emptied a box of kleenex and was in process of ripping each of them to pieces. She looked up and had a huge grin on her face, it was priceless. Momo was no help, she was having her own sweet fun by ripping a small teddy bear to shreds.

It reminded me of when my siblings, my older sister CeCe and younger brother JR, had gotten into some fun of our own one morning. Our mother had worked the night shift at the hospital and was sleeping so we were trying to be quite, yes we were trying to be quite. In the living room corner stood a vase with 'quenouilles' (I don't know the english word and the french-english dictionary is no help so please see the picture)as a decorative piece. I don't remember how it all started but when we pinched the quenouilles pieces would break away and float around like snowflakes it was pretty cool and we had loads of fun until our mom walked in and her face said it all. What we hadn't noticed was that we were knee deep in snowflakes, our mother just stood there, laughed and told us to have fun trying to clean our mess. It took us quite some time to get rid of all those pretty snowflakes and we never did that again. For me, it's a childhood memory that I cherish because of the fun we had and my mother's face.

Oh no . . . . . busted

In english it is Cattail. And the boy had done that very thing with Kleenex. He may have taught her that trick, but I won't admit to it.
