Winter Wonderland

It is quite seldom that we see snow in the Northwest but yesterday we got slammed with a snow storm. Paypay went to the Seahawks game on Monday night and it took him over 3 hours to get home in very slippery conditions. Chickpea, Momo and I stayed home and watched the snow fall, it was quite beautiful and it felt like home and Christmas.

This morning, the four of us got dressed up warmly and went outside to play in the snow. Most of the snow had melted so we couldn't make a snowman but it was lots of fun running around in the snow.

C'est rare qu'on a de la neige dans le nord-ouest mais hier nous avons eu une tempete de neige. Paypay est alle a sa joute des Seahawks et ca lui a pris 3 heures pour revenir a la maison dans des conditions tres glissant. Chickpea, Momo et moi nous avons reste a la maison et avons regarde la neige tomber. C'etait tres beau et sa me rapellait de chez nous et les fetes.

Ce matin, nous sommes alles dehors meme si beaucoup de neige avait deja fondu. Il n'avait pas assez de neige pour faire un bonhomme mais on s'est amuse quand meme.

Cookie Monsters

I think i've created a couple of cookie monsters.

Many years ago, while housebreaking Momo, we would treat her to a cookie when she asked for the door to go potty outside or when she was being a good dog. She's a smart dog so she would ask for the door, go outside run around the yard once, come back in and sit by her cookie jar waiting for her treat. Now Momo sits by her cookie jar at any given time during the day waiting for her treat, so much i've had to put the darn jar in the pantry away from view.

Momo has been feeling a little left out since Chickpea joined our family so i've been letting Chickpea give her treats among other things. I thought it was harmless and cute but now, Chickpea runs into the kitchen saying 'cookie, cookie, cookie'with Momo hot on her trail and grabs the pantry door handle. I open the door, Chickpea gives me the jar's lid, reaches int, takes out a cookie, gives it to Momo and puts the lid back on. After she reaches over and grabs the animal cracker bag and gives it to me while saying 'cookie, cookie'... It's a process that could go on and on and on but i've put the brakes on it and they each get a cookie at snack time only.

J'ai cree des monstres a biscuits.

Il y a plusiers annees, lorsqu'on domptait Momo, on lui donnait des biscuits pour la recompenser quand elle demandait la porte or bien quand elle etait gentile. C'est une chienne intelligente donc elle demandait la porte et courait quelques tours dans la cour, revenait et attendait sa recompense devant son pot a biscuits. Maintenant Momo s'assis devant son pot n'importe quand et attend son biscuit, tellement que j'ai ete oublige de le metre dans l'armoire hors de vue.

Momo se sens un peu delaisse depuis que Chickpea a joint notre famille donc je laisse Chickpea donner les biscuits a Momo. Je pensais que c'est mignon mais la, Chickpea rentre dans la cuisine en courant et disant 'cookie, cookie, cookie' avec Momo colle aux fesses. Chickpea prends la poignee de l'armoire, je lui ouvre la porte, elle me donne le couvercle du pot, elle prends un biscuit, le donne a Momo et elle remets le couvercle. Apres Chickpea se tasse et prends son sac a biscuit qu'elle me donne en distant 'cookie, cookie'... C'est une proces qui peut etre repeter a plusieurs reprises durant la journne mais j'ai mis les friens et maintenant ils ont leur 'cookie' lors de la collation seulement.

Blog Newbie

My hubby, paypay, has been after me for months (so has my good friend Elle) to create a blog instead of writing my usual ‘update email’ to our family back East. I usually end up forwarding those emails to a bunch of friends because they also want to see the pictures and stuff. So I’ve cracked under pressure and decided to give it a try. I'm new at this blogging stuff so forgive me if I make a 'blog no-no'.

A bit of background information
We are a family of three (paypay = dad, kathou = mom, chickpea = daughter) and our dog (momo as my daughter calls her) living in the NorthWest. Our roots are French-Canadian so this blog will have both english & french postings.

I honestly don't know what the future holds for this blog, but i'll try to make it fun and not corny.

Mon mari, paypay, me suggere depuis des mois (et mon amie Elle aussi) de cree un blogue au lieu d'ecrire mes fameux emails 'dernieres nouvelles' pour notre famille dans l'est. Ces fameux emails je les envois a plusiers amis car eux aussi veulent voir les photos et etc. Donc j'ai craque sous la pression et je vais l'essayer. C'est un nouveau domain pour moi donc soyez gentils si je fais une erreure de 'bloggeur'. Surtout si je fais des erreurs de grammaire en francais :o~

Un peu d'information sur nous
Nous sommes une petite famille de trois (paypay = papa, kathou = maman, chickpea = fille) et notre chien (momo comme ma fille l'appele) qui demeurent dans le nord ouest des Etats-Unis. Nos racines sont d'origines Canadiens-Francais donc ce blogue contiendra des commentaires francais et anglais.

Je ne sais pas le futur de ce blogue mais je vais essayer de le rend plaisant mais pas trop niasieux.
